St Ives

The wonderful Cornish seaside town of St Ives, is captured beautifully by Patrick Heron. It was originally to be the design of a silk scarf back in 1948 and here it has been printed on silk with black and blue. I love the joy that exudes from this : the homely cat, and relaxing with a cup of tea in the beautiful town with the bay as the backdrop to all the activities. Textiles are all around us in the every day, and it is so lovely that artists have added their touch, transforming the ordinary into the particularly lovely. That’s a great way to live a day 🙂
