Trying something new is so much fun! Today I turned my hand to some silversmithing and making a ring. First we tried out the techniques of hammering and soldering copper.
And then we got to work using silver. Although rings look quite delicate, it was amazing how much hammering they could take, to get them into the right shape. It was a new medium for me, and it was funny that I didn’t the names of the tools – it’s a whole new language! And it’s also funny when I used a term incorrectly – I said we were welding! Much hilarity about that one!
I love the ring I made, and I will be wafting my hand around to shoe it off!
