Another beautiful sculpture on the plazza in Cherbourg, next to the Quasar art gallery. There is a lovely café just on the corner which is great for just watching the world go by while writing and drinking good coffee. The sculpture is of Roland Barthes, a son of Cherbourg, who became a very influential philosophy and literary theorist. Christine Lariviere is the sculptor.
