Anni and the Bauhaus

A click onto Google today reminded us that the Bauhaus artist movement celebrates 100 years. Its art originating after World War One, broke new ground in exploring new styles, using new media and desiring art to be accessible to all people. Anni Albers was one of the students there, and she used textiles and weaving to express her artist vision. At the textile exhibition at Messums Wiltshire, they displayed one of her patterns which had been made into a very large rug. Inspiring ideas enriching us still.
