Mesh Man

I came across this wonderful piece of art one Sunday morning when I was having morning coffee at the indoor market in Recoleta, Buenos Aires, while taking a little break during a work trip.

The very polite man, just about to raise his hat in respect and greeting, was near the ceiling, above the bread and cake shop!  The sculpture was made out of mesh wire and I thought what a lovely piece it was, in this old and friendly market place, as relaxed and easy as the Sunday morning itself was.  I don’t know who the sculptor was – not one of the named grandees, publicly patroned, but someone enlisting their artist skill  to create art that augments the relaxed ambience of a popular public place.  Lovely 🙂
